Tigers Dominate Parsons in 61–13 Road Victory

Fort Scott piles up 61 points while its defense creates pressure and finds the end zone.

PARSONS, Kan. — The Fort Scott Tigers delivered a dominant performance Friday night, defeating the Parsons Vikings 61–13 on the road.

Fort Scott controlled the game on both sides of the football, using an explosive rushing attack, relentless defensive pressure and a momentum-changing touchdown just before halftime to pull away from the Vikings.

Quarterback Dredyn Marlow led the Tigers’ offense, accounting for four touchdowns in the victory. Marlow completed 2 of 4 passes for 15 yards and a touchdown while carrying the ball nine times for 138 yards and three scores. He averaged more than 15 yards per rushing attempt and repeatedly punished the Parsons defense when he escaped into the open field.

The Tigers’ offensive line controlled the line of scrimmage and consistently created running lanes for Marlow and the Fort Scott backfield. The offense took advantage, producing big plays and keeping Parsons from slowing the Tigers’ momentum.

One of the biggest plays of the night came from Fort Scott’s defense shortly before halftime. Shai Kennedy intercepted a Parsons pass and returned it 90 yards for a touchdown, delivering a major blow to the Vikings and sending the Tigers into the locker room with complete control of the game.

Kennedy’s pick-six highlighted an impressive night for the Fort Scott defense. The Tigers’ defensive line dominated up front, repeatedly disrupting plays in the Parsons backfield and preventing the Vikings from establishing a consistent offensive rhythm.

The “Law Office of Bishop & Clark” was open for business throughout the night, as Isaak Bishop and Bryson Clark each recorded sacks and kept constant pressure on the Parsons quarterback.

The Tigers remained aggressive after halftime and never allowed the Vikings to make a serious push. Fort Scott continued adding to its advantage while the defense limited Parsons to just 13 points.

It was a complete road performance for the Tigers, who played with energy and urgency from the opening whistle through the final seconds.

Fort Scott will remain on the road in Week 3 when it travels to Independence to face the Bulldogs. The matchup will open Southeast Kansas League play for both teams.
